CAPS LOCK FOR IPHONE AND IPOD TOUCH
This is a short tip so I’m not gonna be long. If you want to have CAPS LOCK on iPhone / iPod Touch you have to:
1. Go to Settings, General, Keyboard and turn ON Enable Caps Lock

2. double tap the Shift Key from the iPhone / iPod Touch keyboard. The Shift Key button will became blue permanently as long the CAPS LOCK is enabled. To disable it, tap once the Shift Key.

No need for a new application :)
Cons. CAPS LOCK is being disabled when you go from letters to numbers and come back. You will have to double tap again the Shift Key if you want CAPS LOCK enabled. Kinda annoying if you have a mix of CAPS LOCK letters and numbers (e.g. a password).
Tested on version 2.2.1

Thanks for the post, I´ve been wondering how to use CAPS-Locks on the iPhone.
Very interesting, I like your site, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for this post! Had to reset my iPod and lost my caps lock feature.. Did not know you had to manually enable it! Lol.. Thanks again!
I have a custom password set on my 64 GB Ipod Touch. With a capital letter in the beginning and a capital letter in the middle. Now my Ipod will allow me to only capitalize the first letter. Once I hit the “caps lock” key again to capitalize the letter in the middle it won’t activate. It turns blue when I tap it and then goes back white. Therefore I can’t capitalize both letter as I need to in order to unlock my Ipod. Example if my password was “HeLlo”, I could only put in “Hello”. Help please.
Try having the following, If your Ipod only allows standard capitalisation, and if your password was HeLlo:
Type – He.Llo the full stop should allow the second L to be capitalised, simply delete the . after you have done it before submitting to make it the HeLlo you desire.
Alternatively having a after the . could help if the above doesnt work, then delete both of these respectively.
a space after the . **
Sorry, put the word space in html brackets :s
How do u make your iPod touch automaticly capitilize every first letter in a sentence. Example: The Cat And The Dog Swam
Nice fast tips thanks. More please just got my iphone today
Thank you soo much. Without this i be lost finding out how to do the cap lock.
I have the same problem happening with my sons ipod touch.
He can’t unlock due to a second capital letter in the password.
I tried the ‘period’ and the ‘a’ and even a ‘space’ with no success.
Do you have any other options?
I need to get it unlocked so that we can remove the password and not deal with this issue.
Thanks
Jim
I have the same problem–I can’t join a network on my ipod touch because the caps button won’t come back on once i’m typing the password ie. once I press the caps button off after typing H in HeLloThere the caps button won’t engage again. Any ideas?
Same problem here. Weird. Was about to give up when I figured a way around it. Open Notes application and type it in. When you want to go CAPS after a number/special key just hit Return (new line) and type it in. Then backspace across the new line. I then was able to copy it and paste it in for the wireless password.
