A few minutes ago I was thinking to watch a movie on TV Shack and after a couple of seconds instead of the movie web page I’ve got redirected, suddenly, on chinaontv.com. I don’t even have to be clicking on anything for it to redirect me.

This was getting me. It seams that chinaontv.com is registered since 2006 in Dallas – Texas, but their IP is located in China.

After reading of some discussion lists about chinaontv.com, I’d say that it is no virus but a weird redirection. It seams that responsible for this web redirect is a cookie which is keeping redirecting the browser to their website. Not sure that emptying the browser cache of cookies and temp files will solve the problem.

Looking on the web I’ve found this amazing Firefox add-on which is killing any attempt of web redirect. The add-on is named: Redirect Cleaner 1.2.0 and is located on this page. It is doing it’s job, recommended! :)

I’m not 100% sure, that this solution will works for everybody or for an unlimited time, but, at least for now, it is a good solution for anyone who has the internet connection filtered by the internet provider and can’t download any torrent or even access Peer-2-Peer websites due to some sort of restrictions.

So, let’s get down to the solution.

1. go to the torrent website and copy the link of the torrent you want to be downloaded (from the browser or right click on “Download this torrent” and click on “Copy Link Location”

1. go to http://anonymouse.org

2. enter the URL address of the torrent into the field named “Enter website address:” and click on Surf Anonymously. It will open again the torrent website but this time the link will be different as you can see looking into the URL address. (or you can go straight, from the beginning to http://anonymouse.org, surf through the website and when you get the torrent, copy the address from the browser and go further)

3. copy that address from the URL, open your torrent client (Azureus or whatever), go to File and click Add Torrent From URL. Just paste in, the link, or if is already show up over there, hit OK.

4. the download should goes on, this time without any limitations.

IMPORTANT! I’m not encouraging anyone to use unpaid stuff. Proceed with caution and don’t forget about the copyright.

I am not 100% sure that this method is working with all existing software but I am convinced that will work for a lot of them.

Running a trial version of a software without expiring can be possible using a small piece of program named RunAsdate which intercepts the kernel API calls that returns the current date and time (GetSystemTime, GetLocalTime, GetSystemTimeAsFileTime), and replaces the current date/time with the date/time that you specify. This program is working only in 32bit environment. The best part: it’s FREE!

Let’s get started. Give it a search in your search engine for: RunAsdate, download it and run it.

Open the application you want to hack, chose a date and time you want the application to run all the time you open it and create a shortcut desktop which you will use it to open that program from now.

Disclaimer: you are doing this on your responsibility. I am not responding for any consequence.
