How to download torrents using proxy servers
I’m not 100% sure, that this solution will works for everybody or for an unlimited time, but, at least for now, it is a good solution for anyone who has the internet connection filtered by the internet provider and can’t download any torrent or even access Peer-2-Peer websites due to some sort of restrictions.
So, let’s get down to the solution.
1. go to the torrent website and copy the link of the torrent you want to be downloaded (from the browser or right click on “Download this torrent” and click on “Copy Link Location”
1. go to http://anonymouse.org
2. enter the URL address of the torrent into the field named “Enter website address:” and click on Surf Anonymously. It will open again the torrent website but this time the link will be different as you can see looking into the URL address. (or you can go straight, from the beginning to http://anonymouse.org, surf through the website and when you get the torrent, copy the address from the browser and go further)
3. copy that address from the URL, open your torrent client (Azureus or whatever), go to File and click Add Torrent From URL. Just paste in, the link, or if is already show up over there, hit OK.
4. the download should goes on, this time without any limitations.
IMPORTANT! I’m not encouraging anyone to use unpaid stuff. Proceed with caution and don’t forget about the copyright.

Thanks its a useful tip to download torrent behind the proxy :) ill look at it.
Thanks! And mind:
• Proxy software provides anonymous surfing and allows you to hide or change your IP address from websites you visit and your ISP.
• You can configure your browser or application to work through proxy software to stay anonymous when you visit websites, download files, send emails, etc.
• Proxy software provides different proxy management functions such as proxy finder, proxy checker, proxy filter, proxy chaining options, etc which simplify anonumous surfing.
• Some proxy tools support CGI proxy servers (web proxy servers), which enables you to configure proxy software to change CGI proxy on fly, create proxy chains with CGI proxies, etc.
This is deceptive. The torrent application will download the torrent seed file through the proxy, however the torrent application does not connect to seeders through the proxy (only the web browser is using the proxy).
That’s Too wonderful, when it comes in india hope it can make a Rocking area for youngster.. hope that appear true.
Your blog is so informative maintain up the excellent operate!!!!
As a Newbie, I’m often searching on the net for articles that will support me. Thank you
you made my day!
thank you
i tried but utorrent shows ” host name not found”. i didnt worked.
Brett is right! No offense but you have NO idea how torrents work. This is NOT how you use a proxy to download anonymously!! Torrents files themselves are NOT the content, they’re simply a hash file that tells your torrent client to connect to the people who have the content!
I repeat, THIS DOES NOTHING TO HIDE YOU! You need to find a real anonymous proxy server, and set your torrent client up to funnel ALL torrent traffic and information through that proxy address. Downloading the torrent file itself is NOT illegal, they’re just hash files. You can download those with your IP and not get in trouble. When you USE that torrent file, your torrent client then connects to the SWARM. THAT is the ONLY time anonymity is useful, because connected to that swarm, are RIAA and MPAA investigators who log all the IP’s and send DMCA letters to the ISP’s they’re under.
I can’t believe this article has been up for 2 damn years and only ONE person has spoken up about this. This is one of the most returned articles on google when searching for torrent friendly socks4/5 proxies. I think it’s important for you to change this article to inform people that you were wrong, and that this does nothing to protect their privacy, because there’s nothing worse than misleading someone about their privacy. It’s a serious issue that people need to be aware of, especially with SOPA coming.
Hi Xilis, sorry to tell you this but you and Brett didn’t understand what this article is about.
Did I say anything about downloading torrents anonymously?
What I said is that my ISP was blocking me from accessing torrents websites and by using a web proxy I bypass that restriction I was able basically to open up those torrents websites.
I could have been blocked your comment (sorry but you’re aggressive and unfriendly) but I wanted to clarify this once and for all. Cheers!
This is how you torrent using a proxy
