How to make a system backup in Windows XP
How to make a system back up without any software installed?
You really don’t need to pay for any high-toned backup software to get a good and absolutely necessarily backup for you system.
Windows XP backup can be done in three ways:
1. from Windows CD
2. directly from run command: ntbackup or cmd / ntbackup
3. click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Backup to start the wizard.
It’s just a manner of taste to get into the Windows backup process. Any of these methods is good and the final result is the same. From windows CD is little bit different the way you find the backup utilities. Unfortunately this is the only way to make a backup in Windows XP Home Edition. The steps using the CD are:
1. Insert your Windows XP CD into the drive and, if necessary, double-click the CD icon in My Computer.
2. On the Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP screen, click Perform Additional Tasks.
3. Click Browse this CD.
4. In Windows Explorer, double-click the ValueAdd folder, then Msft, and then Ntbackup.
5. Double-click Ntbackup.msi to install the Backup utility.
After you get in business click Next, choose Back up files and settings from the second page, and then click Next. You should see the page shown in next screen shot, which represents your first decision point.
The next step is to choose which files/directories do you want to backup. Regularly if you want a windows backup you will select entire c: drive. In this manner you will have later windows and all programs stored and ready for any catastrophic failure. You can choose either to backup sensitive/important documents or other precious things stored on your HDD.
The third step is to decide where to store the backup. The regularly destination is the Hard Disk Drive. This is because, unfortunately, the Windows Backup utility can’t save files directly to a CD or better a DVD. Some people will choose an external hard drive or an USB.
After all you need to create a name for your backup and that’s all.
You can repeat these steps weekly or monthly manually or you can choose automatically backup method, which is preferred by me.
Of course you can use a lot of software, a part of them even free to backup your stuff but this free windows backup utility, in my opinion it deserves to be used.

Better yet install Linux or BSD. They are easier and more secure than Windows. Stop greedy, wasteful corporations and take back control of your PC. Minus, based on your other posts you seem to rail against poorly run greedy entiies, so why do you use Windows?
It’s true that you can make a backup using Windows, but it is also true that you can purchase online backup really inexpensively, and some companies even include it in the purchase price of the backup software.
i think there are many ways to do data backup this is very important for a reliable system flow
