Moving the page file (swap)
If you have a second Hard Drive, installed on your computer, you can easily increase the power of your pc. To do this you need to move the page file (swap file) from your primary partition to another partition on the second/other HDD.
Prior to moving the swap you need to know exactly which partitions belongs to each drive, and after, which partition has enough space for that file.
For this, go to Start / run / type: diskmgmt.msc. Will open the Disk Management applet which will give to you the all information about partitions. On the first row you’ll have Disk 0 on the first column and after this other columns: 8MB Unallocated, C:, D:, E: or something like this. This is the disk with the operation system (regularly XP). On the next row, you will get the second HDD with the other partitions, let’s say F: and G:.
You need to move the swap file from C: to one of these partitions (in our case, F: or G:) to second drive (you can move the page file on any disk you want if your computer has more than one HDD).
Verify that partition(s) from second drive (in our case F: or G:) for free allocated space. If you have at least 3GB on one of these drives you can move the page file. Note the partition you decided to move that file.
Moving the swap file
Go to Control Panel / System / Advanced / Performance – click Settings / Advanced / Change
Click on C: / no paging file / set
Click on F: / custom size – initial size: 1150MB, maximum size 3000MB / set
Personal I’m using 3000MB for maximum of space allocated but you can set up how much space you want or you can choose System manage size, to let your OS decide.

It is a good thing and helps some times. I felt it in some games. But it doesn`t help much if you have an old pc.
I'm using this method for a while and it's works. Good tutorial!
