Fortunately there is a solution, even a easy one:
1. turn on your computer and connect your iPod Touch / iPhone to it.
2. hold down both, the power and the home buttons (the iPod Touch / iPhone will power off after 10 seconds)
3. after theiPod Touch / iPhone powers off, release the power button (but keep holding down the home button)
4. in no more than a couple of seconds, you should hear that Windows sounds that means the iPod is being detected by your computer again.
5. release now the home button, and your iPod will be back alive, in DFU mode.
6. open iTunes (if is not already open) and restore your iPod Touch / iPhone firmware.

Your iPod Touch / iPhone will not be jailbroken now, but at least will be functional.

So, why is this software such a precious?
Let’s just assume that you have hundreds or even thousands of pictures on you computer. A part of this pictures you’re sending to your friends over the internet and you duplicate and resize this pictures in order to sent them. After a while your computer will be full of duplicate pictures (as it was my PC).

Or, maybe you are a big music listener. You will have tons of mp3s, a part of them in two or more places on your computer, as duplicates. To delete manual all this junk is a big pain. The only solution is to use a tool and DupeTrasher is it’s doing a great job cleaning your HDD for duplicates.

What is DupeTrasher actually doing?
DupeTrasher is searching on your HDD for duplicates. Once the search process is done you can let DupeTrasher to remove automatically the duplicated files/directories/archives or you can select them manually.

I had chosen the automatic method and the results were impressive – almost 9 GB of duplicates were founded and removed from my HDD, most of them pictures but a few movies and dozens of mp3s too. Of course you can use a free tool to do this but I have found very hard or, to be sincerely, impossible, to find a good free software to remove safely the duplicate files, and anyway what I found didn’t removed the directories which contained that files too.

What can I say more? I am really impressed about the performances of this small piece of software. For all of you interested in removing the duplicates from your computer I recommend that you check this duplicate file finder – DupeTrasher.

If you’re still wondering how to transfer photos from iPod Touch / iPhone to your computer there is a simple way (actually, two ways, depending of your computer settings) to do it and YOU DON’T NEED ANY SOFTWARE! Yes, it’s true, to get the synced photos off, you’ll DON’T need to use a third-party tool.

The Solution(s):
A.
1. Plug in your iPod Touch / iPhone.
2. This will pop-up a new window “Select the program to launch for this action”.
3. Click on Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard / Next.

4. Select de pictures you wanted transferred to your PC and Click Next, give to the group of pictures a name and choose a place to save this group of pictures.
5. Check Delete pictures from my device after copying them if you want to have this pictures only on your PC.
6. Click Next and all your selected pictures will be transferred from your iPod Touch / iPhone to your PC.

B.
1. Plug in your iPod Touch / iPhone and there will be no such a message “Select the program to launch for this action”. See How to enable “Select the program to launch for this action” message.
2. Go to My Computer and right click on User’s iPod (or User’s iPhone’s I guess for iPhone users).
3. Click on Get Pictures. It will pop up a new window like the following one. Click Next and follow the same steps you get used to follow for transferring files from other devices like a photo camera, etc. This steps are described in the previous method, as well.

The solution is very simple and it’s offered by Yahoo Messenger itself. The curious thing is that it was impossible to find it over the web. Or maybe I didn’t use the right search keywords. So, as usually I figure it out by myself (after a couple of beers :-P).

Lets do it together. Open both YM accounts (there can be more, no problem – you will have to repeat the steps). For this you’ll need two computers or Y!Multi Messenger which allows you to have two or more YM instances opened in the same time on the same computer or just ask a trusted friend to help you by giving him your password.

In the account you want to export contacts go to Actions / Send my messenger list or simply press CTRL+SHIFT+M. In the first window select your second contact name (to which you want to add your contacts, that one you opened on the other computer) and after that click Next to choose which contacts to send.

Import Yahoo Messenger Contacts

Go now to the second instance of Yahoo Messenger. You should have there a new window opened and an invitation to view all those contacts you have been sent a couple of moments ago. Click on view contacts and then select from the list which one you want to import in this account. The contacts you have already in the list will be marked in grey and with a message telling you that you have it already in your list.

In the case you have already all of those contacts in your account list, there will pop up a message telling you “All of the contacts who were sent to you are already in your Messenger list”.

Done! You have now all your contacts transferred from one Yahoo Messenger account to another :)

PS. The new YM 9 is offering ways to transfer contacts from even different accounts like Gmail, MSN etc.

Update: There is no need to open in the same time your both Yahoo Messenger accounts. Just send that list to your new account and than open that new account and click on view contacts and then select from the list which one you want to import in this account.

Now, all the time when your friend is trying to access Internet Explorer by clicking on that icon, he will receive this message “WARNING! Your computer is infected and will shutdown!” and the computer really will shutdown in a couple of seconds.

But what is if you want to do not shutdown but restart?
For this you’ll write in the target field of the shortcut:
shutdown -r -t 10 -c “WARNING! Your computer is infected and will shutdown!”
“r” is coming from Restart, “s” from shutdown.

To stop the shutdown process write as fast as you can in START / run: shutdown -a

There is a plugin, made in JavaScript, with this function to mark a page, to create a bookmark in a PDF doc.

Usage:
Open your document in Adobe Reader. Then choose Tools -> Bookmark from the menu. “Bookmark This Page” adds the bookmark. “Go To Bookmark” sends you to the bookmark you created. It remembers which PDF document you bookmarked so it works on all of your PDFs simultaneously.
